Non-compulsory components
The Trust also considers applications for several types of additional funding on a optional basis:
Academic development funding – from £500 to £2,000, dependent on the duration of your program, to attend conferences/seminars and programs.
Family allowance – up to £10,120 for one child and up to £14,440 for two or more children (2021-22 rate). No funding is provided for a partner
Fieldwork – you may apply to keep up to your normal maintenance allowance while on fieldwork as part of your Doctorate degree (PhD) (the Trust does not fund other fieldwork costs as these should be funded by the University Composition Fee).
Hardship funding – For unforeseen circumstances/contingencies
Maternity/Paternity funding – should you require it, you may apply to intermit your studies for up to 6 months and continue to obtain your maintenance allowance during this time
Eligibility.
You can apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship if you are:
A non citizen of United Kingdom but from any other country around the globe.
The Eligible Courses to Apply and be granted one of the following full-time residential courses of study at the University of Cambridge UK:
Phd (three year research-only degree)
MSc or MLitt (two year research-only degree)
One year postgraduate course (e.g. MPhil, LLM, MASt, Diploma, MBA etc.)
Are you a currently studying at Cambridge university UK? If you wish to apply for a new postgraduate course you can apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. Current recipients can also apply for a new course.
However, if you are already studying at Cambridge university, you apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship to fund the remainder of your program.
